Number formation

Number formation is the process of building a number by using the given values for:

  • Hundreds
  • Tens
  • Units
  • Thousands
  • Lakhs
These are combined by multiplying each by its place value, and then adding them to form the final number.
Let us consider: 45 hundreds, 61 tens, and 477 ones
Break it down:
45 hundreds = 45 x 100  = 4500
61 tens = 61 × 10 = 610
477 ones = 477 x 1 = 477

Add: 4,500 + 610 + 477 = 5,587
